Wrenching with the Mechanic

Below are two(scratch that...3...I edited the post a bunch of times..sorry) Mechanics. The 1st is a an Idea I had to simplify the head into a simple bean or oval. The 2nd was my attempt at a clean mechanic head based on a design dave did.

I like the color on this old design. Actually there's a lot about this old design I like. But since we aren't going with it. I wanted to mention that I really liked the color scheme.

New Giant Whalien Replacement

The Tentacles in the pools retract. A Giant Gate is opened in the floor of the arena and the giant octopus comes bursting out.

Mechanic Outline

Scene 1: Dank Dark Prison Cell
The Captain and the Space Mechanic sit side by side in a dark and dirty prison cell. Other prisoners sit or lay, scatteredacross the rest of the cell. Some are wounded. Suddenly the sound of the cell door opening is heard and the prisoners , includingThe Captain and the Space Mechanic look up. Two guards take the Captain and The Mechanic and push them out of the cell. The Captain and The Mechanic are lead down a dark hallway. Rumbling and the grinding of metal is heard. A large metal gatebegins to open. The Captain and the Mechanic look up, squinting as light pours in. They stop at the now open gate gaze out uponthe battle grounds of the alien collaseum. The camera cuts wide to reveal a collaseum filled with alien crowds cheering andreveling in the battle of gladiators already taking place. The camera cuts to a the emporer laughing maniacally and stuffing foodin his beak. The camera cuts back to the Captain and the Mechanic. The Captain and the mechanic give each other a glance as they are suddenly shoved into the arena. The Gate closes behind them.

Scene 2: The Arena
The Captain and the Mechanic gaze upon the battle. The Captain steps forward gesturing to the Mechanic to stay behind him and followhis lead. The Mechanic just scowls like usual. BLAM!!!! The captain gets leveled (by a blast or something??) The Mechanic is blown aside.He shakes off the blow and rolls out of the way as another blast explodes at his feet.

Scene 3: FIGHT!
KICK PUNCH DODGE KILL BITE THROW WRENCH KILL PUNCH DODGE........FROG EATS IT IN THE FETUS FLYERSPROPELLERS.....KICK PUNCH DODGE BURP.......RHINO CHARGES........DODGE KILL....BLAH BLAH BLAH

Scene 4 : Whalien (or other very LARGE creature emerges)
The crowd becomes silent as a rumbling is heard. The Gladiators all pause for a brief moment. A roar is heard. A giant Gate beginsopening. Before it opens completely the creature crashes through destroying the gate. The gate flies off it's hinges crushing a couplecombatants and then bounces into the stands crushing a whole section of the crowd. The creature the Mechanic is fighting faints as the Giant creature roars again. The Mechanic poises himself to attack the giant creature. He begins to run forward , but stops short as he sees allof the other gladiators running past him in the opposite direction away from the creature. The creature opens it 's mouth. The camera does one of those extreme depth of field change things as the Mechanic sees a giant vortex form in the creatures mouth. Dust starts building upand moving in the direction of the creature. As the vortex gets stronger the mechanic quickly plunges his wrench into the ground and holdson as a creature flies past him and into the creatures mouth.
(This is where my memory gets fuzzy)

Scene 5: Fight with the Teleporting Thing. Lamest Gladiator Ever DAVE!!!!! JK! Sorta.....I Hate You!
Something happens the creature is sucking everyone in. Maybe have some crowd members (like the hot dog vendor) get sucked in. The Emporer is laughing histerically. The mechanic fights the teleporter dude. Somehow takes the jewel out of it's head. The teleporter gets sucked in to the creature. Maybe the mechanic does too and the creature closes it's mouth. The emporer starts to cheer and revel. Now..we could either do our original dave ending and have the Mechanic teleport out of the creature and behind the emporer killing him and having the crowd cheer etc... or...... We could have him use the gem in some way. Maybe throwing the gem in the creatures mouth. the creaturecloses it's mouth and teleports above the emporer. Whatever we go with needs to be exciting and surprising to both the audience and theemporer. The emporer needs to think his creature has won, and then get killed as he's lauging and celebrating. (At least that's how i feel...and so do you obviously).

I am formaly apologizing for the fact that my designs are not done. I am also asking that you all please do not quit as a result of my lack of work. I came from work and was just tired. I did a little bit. Finished the stick alien for the most part. That was about it. So there is my crappy excuse. But I will finish them. I'd really like to start storyboarding and come back to the designs or work on them as we storyboard. I suppose that can be discussed, tell me what you think is good. Again..sorry.
